Drag Queens are still controversial – People tries to stop a Drag artist’s performance in Eurovision Song Contest!

Drag Queens are glitter and glamour, but also so much more. Drag Queens have been fighting in the very frontline of the LGBT struggle, and they still do. It was Drag Queens who started the Stonewall Riot, a turning point in the fight for gay rights in the United States. This weekend, Austrian Drag Queen Conchita Wurst participates in Eurovision Song Contest. There are numerous campaigns and Facebook groups that tries to stop her performance, and Vitaly Milonov, the man behind the aggressive “gay propaganda” bill in Russia, protests and says that Conchita’s performance is dangerous propaganda. This shows that there is still a long way to go!
Drag Queens of the World admire Conchita for her strenght and her contribution to the world by challenging taboos and making differences and diversity visible! You can contribute to her and all other Drag Queens’ fight: Support the crowdfunding of the book ‘Drag Queens of the World’ to make it possible for Conchita’s Drag Sisters worldwide to tell their story! And of course, by wishing Conchita ‘break a leg’ in the competition!
