We met Alberto in Bolivia, at the LTGB center in Santa Cruz, where he volunteers and travels through Bolivia to give courses in sex education and the importance of prevention in HIV. At the beginning it was very hard to believe that this shy and quite boy can transform himself into a drag queen. But Alberto was very honest with us and shared his story when and how he became a drag queen – Dannah. “I didn‘t like to be a drag queen at the beginning, I just liked to dress as a beautiful woman. But my drag sister Dayanara was into that over the top and little by little I got into this as well. I started doing performances and now I am an important part of the Kardashian Ferrer Drag family“ – says Alberto.
Before our photoshoot, Alberto and his drag family made a new white costume, which you can see in these photos. In Bolivia they have no money to buy beautiful clothing, wigs and accessories, so this group of friends spend their time together to make it from old cd’s, fabric and other reusable materials. And as gay bars are not a common thing, they perform mostly on special parades or events.

If you want to get to know more about drag queens, support our crowdfunding campaign for the publication of the book and meet even more drag queens from all over the world
